Nutty Love

Love Your Nuts is a registered section 18A non-profit testicular awareness campaign based in South Africa.

Torsten Koehler the founder of Love Your Nuts was diagnosed with testicular cancer in his thirties, at that stage of his life he was a teacher whom ironically was teaching Biology and incorporating sex education to raise awareness of what to check for in cancer. 

In 2004 he published a book in German called Love Your Nuts which was then published in English in the year 2011.

He was humbled by a student that attended the school he was teaching at during one of his awareness sessions regarding testicular cancer, the 16-year-old student thanked him for making him aware this early in life he got to go to the doctor in time and was also diagnosed with testicular cancer the student thanked him for saving his life just for the awareness he was spreading. The student was his inspiration or let’s say his motivation to start this foundation. 

Torsten Koehler traveled for 2 years and visited places he had on his bucket list just to get himself out of the depression phase he found himself in due to his diagnosis of testicular cancer he now looked at life differently and found a new love for how he leads his life and aspires to help many more with spreading awareness.

He also appeared live on the 12th of February 2025 at the Crew Bar for the Cape Town Pride Festival at 6 pm, where he spread more awareness for the LGBTQ+ community.

He gave a talk about his journey, how to check for testicular cancer, and what Love Your Nuts is all about.
