In today's show we were joined by Joel Bregman - Senior researcher for the Social
Justice Coalition and Western Cape Police Commissioner Arno Lamoer. They were on the line to raise their concerns as SJC is
accusing some members of the South African Police Service in Mfuleni and
Khayelitsha of harassing and intimidating human rights activist, community
leader and leading member of the SJC’s criminal justice campaign Angy Peter
since last year. SJC believes her work of putting pressure
on police and others responsible for safety and justice to do their jobs
correctly, and her exposure of poorly performing and corrupt officials is the
reason she is now being targeted. In response Commissioner Lamoer said their concerns will be addressed. For further information you can contact
the SJC on (021) 361 8160 or visit www.sjc.org.za
