Health - MTC in partnership with Bush Radio highlights the effects of substance abuse on pregnant women and their unborn babies

On Sakhisizwe today, we were broadcasting live from the Groote Schuur Hospital’s Maternity Ward as part of the MTC project in partnership with Bush Radio. We spoke to Dr Michael Harrison and Dr Lloyd Tuke - both from the hospital’s neonatal unit about the effects of substance abuse on pregnant women and their unborn babies.

This was the last broadcast in partnership with Media and Training Centre for Health - a Community Learning Programme sponsored by the Commonwealth of Learning that aims to use community media as a platform through which to engage targeted groups of learners around key health issues in an attempt to effect behavioural change in marginalised communities in South Africa.
