We also spoke to Rifqa Abrahams - Peace Project
leader for Community Action towards a Safer Environment or CASE. She was speaking to us about their latest project, the memorial wall in Hanover Park . CASE strives to break the cycle of violence in
communities inflicted by years of trauma through various projects and
techniques that are implemented to transform communities via the development of
community members, creating a positive cycle of healthy individuals, families
and community. They launched a peace project last month in Hanover Park
that aims to restore dignity to the violent-ridden area by setting up a
temporary memorial wall as a reminder of those who have died in the ongoing
violence. For further information you can contact CASE on (021) 691 7066 or
send an email to ra@case.za.org alternatively visit
