On Sakhisizwe today, we spoke to Trevor Myburgh - Bushwise trainer. Bushwise offers
comprehensive six month or one year FGASA (Field Guide Association of South
Africa) accredited field guide training courses in a prime game-viewing area of
Limpopo . We were talking about Bushwise’s 2013 field
guiding courses that kick off in January and July. The curriculum includes bush
skills such as shooting, 4x4 driving and bush knowledge such as conservation,
reserve management, geology and animal behaviour. The course has been designed
to develop applicants into highly skilled professionals in the exciting area of
field guiding and lodge management. The one-year course has been structured to
allow the student to spend 6 months training on campus and 6 months on work
experience at a 3 to 5 star rated safari lodge or research program. Students
who choose to take the six month course and not the work placement will still
be professionally qualified if they pass their exams. For further information
you can send an email to office@bushwise.co.za alternatively visit
