Youngblood presents "The Flower of Shembe" & Arts Update

Neo Muyanga
We were also joined by Neo Muyanga - Composer & Musical Director of the Flower of Shembe. The production is said to be a ‘mythic opera’ about faith and destiny and will run at Artscape Theatre from the 2nd till the 5th of May. The musical play, Flower of Shembe, is a re-imagining of what trials and tribulations might befall a prophet-in-the-making coming to terms with his own destiny. Neo who also happens to be a nephew of the Shembe clan explained more about the production. The Flower of Shembe is directed by Ina Wichterich and Craig Leo and will be at the Artscape Theatre from the 2nd till the 5th of May at 20H00PM. Tickets costs R150 and are available at http://www.webtickets.co.za/

We also heard from Nigel Vermaas with this week Arts update.
