In today’s show, we heard from Richard Hoffman – a senior consultant at Labour Justice. We were talking about workplace discipline focusing on Disciplinary procedures, Grievance procedures, Disciplinary hearings & Warnings. Richard designs and drafts specialized Codes for Discipline and Companies and presides at hearings. For more information about Labour Justice go to www.labourjustice.com or contact their office on (021) 511-6385.
We also heard from Sizwe Pamla – From the National Education Health & Allied Workers Union or NEHAWU. NEHAWU claims that their members, 52 security personnel were suspended by the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) for alleged incitement and promotion of an illegal industrial action. According to the union, ACSA found some of their members guilty in absentia during a hearing without affording them an opportunity to answer for themselves or get representation from union officials. Sizwe explained more about those allegations, unfortunately Nothemba Noruwana – ACSA spokesperson failed to be part of this conversation to tell their side of the story. For more information about the union go to www.nehawu.org.za or call their office on (011) 836 2902.
