Their mission is to challenge the validity of the South African land tenure laws and practices when measured against the Constitution and particularly the Bill of Rights. We also spoke to Nola Roman – from the Geneva Crisis Centre. At Geneva they provide help for abused and homeless women and children. Through their programmes like welding, cabinet making and Arts and culture these women are helped to develop their potential. Nola explained more about the services that they provide. Our last interview was with Patsy Benjamin – from the Gender Advocacy Programme or GAP. One of their aims is to ensure that they represent the experiences and interests of women from marginalised communities, by facilitating interaction between decision-makers and women from civil society.
