be done to lead a normal life if you suffer from diabetes. This week marks National
Diabetes Awareness Week and on Thursday is World Diabetes Day. World Diabetes
Day is the primary global awareness campaign of the diabetes world. It was
introduced in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World
Health Organization (WHO) in response to the alarming rise in diabetes around
the world. It is reported that Diabetes affects 2.6 % of men and 3.9 % of women
according to the 2003 Demographic and Health Survey. Join the Cape Town Global Diabetes
Run/Walk on Saturday November 30th,
2013 from 08:30AM at
Grassy Area opposite SABC Building in Green Point, Cape T own. Distances include the
3km Moms and Tots or 5/10km Run/Walk. Entry is R50 for adult, R30 for child and
