Arts Update and A community conversation in Khayelitsha

We also heard from Nigel Vermaas with this week Arts update, yep he is back from the Grahamstown National Arts Festival. So he shared some of the highlights about the festival.

We closed off with an interview with Bea Abrahams – Implementing Partner for the Nelson Mandela Foundation. The Nelson Mandela Foundation’s Programme to Promote Social Cohesion in partnership with the Institute for Healing of Memories; the Trauma Centre for Survivors of Violence and Torture; Africa Unite; the Whole World Women Association and the Alliance for Refugees in South Africa, will host a community conversation in Khayelitsha tomorrow. The occasion will also mark Nelson Mandela’s birthday and the international launch of Mandela Day – a call to rebuilding communities. They will be meeting from 09h30 to 13h30 at the Khayelitsha Community Hall, in Site C opposite the railway station and the taxi rank and behind the Fire Station. For more information contact Bea on 073 666 0256 or 079 245 3409.
