Today we spoke to Prilene Ezaus – a field worker from the Elsies River Community Centre. Elsies River is one of the oldest cimmunities in Cape Town. They face various social issues including crime, gangsterism, prostitution, drug and alcohol abuse, particularly in the poorer sections. Prilene told us more about the services they provide to uplift the community. If you want more information you can contact their offices at (021) 931 5331.
We also spoke to Braam Hanekom – from People Against Suffering Suppression Oppression and Poverty or PASSOP. They recently highlighted the treatment of refugees and their struggles to receive their asylum status because of long queues and delays at the refugee home affairs in Cape Town.
