Ladles of love, feeding the soul

Founded in 2014, Ladles of love is an extensive community project dedicated to feeding hungry people, through soup kitchens that feed the homeless of Cape Town three times a week. They serve approximately 850 meals per week to people in need: Tuesdays (17h45), Thursdays (17:30) and Saturdays (12:00).

In addition to these regular soup kitchens, Ladles of love have the feeding scheme Munch Club, which provide food to children in schools. It's designed to feed young minds and bellies with healthy food.

Danny Diliberto, the founder of Ladles of love was with us in studio today to tell us about their project and their ambition. He talked about the problem homeless face on a daily basis and how Ladles of love can helped them.

With the celebration of Mandela day, Danny Diliberto invites the public to get involved in this initiative. They will be selling 67 minute slots on quicket to cook 2000 litres of soup on Mandela day.
