Home of Hope addressing problem of Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder

Today in our studio we had Wilfred Klaase from Home of Hope, a non-profit organisation providing care for abused, abandoned and neglected children in South Africa.

They mainly focus on children with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, kids who suffer from brain damage as a result of the mother drinking alcohol or taking drugs during her pregnancy. Wilfred said they take care of these abandoned children through various programmes. One of them is farm work.

But they also try to create more awareness in preventing mothers from substance abuse during pregnancy. And of course, a pregnancy is team work so the it also to educate the guys out there.
