WEDNSDAY- GENDER EQUALITY

#BreakingTheStigmaAroundStereotype(Sakhisizwe Building the nation/ Bou die Nasie)

Today we spoke to Bulelwa Mpushelwa an independent gender and social activist that’s worked in the NPO sector for more than 15 years, with a specific focus on gender based violence, woman empowerment, social justice and human rights.

When asked if woman are still held back by stereotype, she responded by saying “Yes, because firstly if you understand stereotype it is about you over generalizing the specific rolls as a woman, where you should behave or act a certain way because of your sex, gender, culture or race.”

The ways you act, look or walk ect do not define you as a person and what career path you should pursue.
