The theme for 2016 is LIVING AND DYING IN PAIN: IT DOESN'T HAVE TO HAPPEN.

Today we spoke to Dr Clint Cupido Senior Consultant of Medicine Victoria Hospital and Director of Abundant Life Palliative Care.

World Hospice and Palliative Care Day falls on October 8th. Palliative care is to care for the terminally ill and their families.
The biggest focus of a palliative care giver is to explain to the family in simple terms which anyone can understand, what is wrong with your love one and to make the process as easy as possible for the patient.

Victoria Hospital and Hospice Palliative Care Association of South Africa and other Hospices will be raising awareness and understanding of the needs – medical, social, practical, spiritual – of people living with a life limiting illness and their families and to raise funds to support and develop hospice and palliative care services around the world.
