Miki Redelinghuys - Camera, Director and Producer for Plexus Films tjoined us on the line to
tell us more about the Documentary Filmmaker’s Association and Encounters
Documentary Festival’s call for filmmakers to respond to violence against
women. Filmmakers Against Women Abuse (FAWA) is a series of 3 minute films that
provides a platform for filmmakers to tell their stories that move, activate,
reflect and comment on violence against women. In light of the visible and
continued violent attacks, rapes and murder of women in South Africa , the DFA and Encounters
are calling for short documentaries that respond to this. The DFA will select
10 films to be screened at the 15th Encounters Documentary Festival
from June 6th-16th,
2013 in both Johannesburg and Cape Town . Completed films must be
submitted by next week Wednesday May 15th,
2013 . For further information about FAWA you can visit www.docfilmsa.com
