Launch48 Weekend is coming to Cape Town

We heard from Lianne du Toit - Events and co-ordinator of Silicon Cape Initiative. We were talking about Launch48 that’s bringing its 48 hour entrepreneurship event to Cape Town next month. Launch48 was established in 2009 and their mission is to be there for people that want to be part of a startup, from those with the skills to get a startup going to those dreamers with the next big idea but no team and no idea of how to get it moving. Launch48 will be bringing its weekend event for entrepreneurs to get together and build a completely new online or app based business in just 48 hours. Kicking off the Friday evening the attendees will be given the opportunity to pitch their ideas, create teams, and consume plenty of pizza before being guided through a busy weekend spent learning what it takes to launch an online startup. Mentors will be on hand to support attendees, offering guidance, support ideas to help teams achieve the most they can in the short period of time. In addition, all attendees will receive a goodie bag of software and tools valued at over $4,500 to help them in their mission to launch a startup. Tickets start at R400 and student tickets are available. It’s happening from the 17th till the 19th of May at the Bandwidth Barn in Woodstock Exchange.
