We also heard from Maura Sanderoff about her
swim from Robben Island to Bloubergstrand to raise money for Splash
charity and Derrick Frazer - Founder of Splash. The
charity forms part of the Big Bay Events Swim Trust and is geared to teaching
water safety to disadvantaged youth, aiming to create a difference in their own
lives and those around them. Maura is truly a remarkable individual as she
survived to live and tell her story after having her leg above the knee
amputated at the age of 16 due to Osteosarcoma. For more information visit www.facebook.com/Splashandmakeadifference
