Maila - Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health. We were
talking about the newly launched contraceptive device. Last week, Health
Minister Dr. Aaron Motsoaledi announced the “state-of-the-art contraception” that
will be available free of charge for all women from February 27th,
2014 in public hospitals. The tiny sub-dermal contraceptive device, which has to be
inserted by a medical professional under the skin on the upper arm, is said to
be effective for three years.
