UWC to host the Africa World Documentary Film Festival

We heard from Mark Espin - One of the organisers of the Africa World Documentary Film Festival. The University of the Western Cape’s English Department will host the Cape Town leg of the 6th International E. Desmond Lee  Africa World Documentary Film Festival from 24th July to 1st August 2013. The festival is hosted in several cities from St. Louis (USA), Kingston (Jamaica), Yaounde (Cameroon), Philadelphia (USA), London (UK)  and Cape Town (South Africa). The film festival is an effort to promote the knowledge, life and culture of African people through the art of documentary filmmaking. Dubbed one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, the AWDFF will see the presentation of 46 films submitted by participants from all over the world. All screenings will take place in the UWC Library Auditorium, with free entry for all registered staff and students at Western Cape tertiary institutions. General members of the public are encouraged to attend as well each screening will cost R20.
