'Seekers of the Lost Boy' retells South Africa’s history

We closed off with Taryn Hayes - Author of ‘Seekers of the Lost Boy’ to tell us more about her children’s novel that retells South Africa’s history. ‘Seekers of the Lost Boy’ is said to be a tale of intrigue, mystery, excitement and discovery aimed at readers aged 8 to 14 years as it tells the story of the quest of four children. This emerged after Taryn saw the value of using literature to educate and struggling to find children’s books dealing with local history. The characters are catapulted into an adventure taking them on a journey in which they meet people who lived through the forced removals in District Six and rebuilt their lives on the Cape Flats. She believes despite our rich history not much has been written about it especially aimed for children as she drew on her knowledge of the forced removals in District Six and the St James Church in Kenilworth massacre to base the novel on. The book is available at most leading bookstores as well as online at www.kalahari.com or further information you can got to www.tarynhayes.com
