Arts, Culture & Environment - Jazzart Dance Theatre presents Azishe!

In today's show, we spoke to Mziyanda Mancam - Director of the Azishe! Festival. We were talking about Azishe! the Jazzart Dance Theatre Festival. Jazzart Dance Theatre’s popular Danscape has been rebranded as Azishe!. Translated from isiZulu “azishe” means “let it burn”; the festival name is inspired by the energy, passion hunger to succeed that its young participants have brought to the Danscape festival stage since 1999 and will be taking place from the 4th till the 7th of July at the Artscape Theatre. This year they are bringing works from across South Africa to the Azishe! dance festival. Jazzart will share the stage with Daveyton Arts Foundation from Gauteng, Lumanyano Cultural Group from the Eastern Cape, Dreamfinder Trading and Project 302 from Kwazulu-Natal and one of its community partners from Cape Town. Tickets costs only R70 or R50 for block bookings and are available from Computicket or Artscape's Dial-a-Seat on (021) 421 7695 or visit www.artscape.co.za
