PASSOP concerned about Xenophobia in Cape Town

We closed off with Anthony Muteti - Community liaison officer for People Against Suffering Oppression and Poverty or PASSOP. We were talking about their ongoing Xenophobia concerns in Cape Town. PASSOP is a community-based non-profit organization and grassroots movement that works to protect and promote the rights of all refugees, asylum seekers and immigrants in South Africa. Muteti voiced Passop’s and his concerns regarding xenophobia in Cape Town at a Human Rights Day workshop that was recently held for the Tafelsig community of Mitchell’s Plain. They believe people are still not accepting foreign nationals and tend to react in violence towards them.
