On Sakhisizwe today, we spoke to Phumeza Mlungwana – From the Social Justice Coalition. We were talking about the Campaign for Safe Communities that was launched last week. The
Campaign for Safe Communities is a collaborative of civil society
organisations, non-governmental organisations, universities and research
institutions, the business community, faith based and community organisations
and concerned individuals who have united to address the unacceptable levels of
violence and crime in South Africa . It is dedicated to
improving levels of safety and access to justice for all people which requires
a coordinated response from all government departments and agencies as well as
involvement and active citizenship from individuals, families, communities,
civil society and all sectors and groupings in our society. For further
information you can visit www.safecommunities.sjc.org.za or follow the campaign on twitter @safe_RSA.
