Freedom of Expression Institute deeply disappointed about the proposed Information Bill

We also heard from Tendai Sithole – Freedom of Expression Institute. We were talking about the much talked about proposed Protection of Information Bill. The Bill, which is currently before Parliament, will legislate how the government manages and classifies information but observers argue that it is nothing but a threat to media freedom. Is the government trying to gag the media, do they have something to hide or they are really about promoting responsible journalism as they claim well Tendai helped us understand the implications of this Bill.
