21 April - Gender - Scopa wants the Commission for Gender Equality placed under curatorship

In today’s show, we were joined by Mr Themba Godi – Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts or Scopa. Scopa wants the Commission for Gender Equality placed under curatorship following another disclaimer from the Auditor General. The parliamentary committee wrote to the presidency and the ministry of women, children and people with disabilities as well as the National Assembly Speaker’s Office to urgently intervene and save the commission from collapsing due to poor management. Mr Godi explained more. We were also joined by Commissioner Yvette Abrahams – from the commission on Gender Equality. She says the commission is contesting the move.
