Unions signs wage agreement with SARS
We closed off with an interview with Dirk Matthysen – National Chairperson for the Public Servants Association. We were talking about the South African Revenue Service workers strike. SARS employees went on strike on Monday over wages. According to media reports, the workers are demanding a 12.8 percent increase while SARS is offering between 9.9 and 11 percent. It is reported that yesterday the Unions signed a salary increase agreement of between 9 percent and 11 percent, putting an end to the 10 day strike two days before the filing season deadline. For more information you can contact the Union on (021) 409 7360 or visit www.psa.co.za
