Today we spoke to Keith Mackintosh - Ballet Master and head of Audience Development & Outreach Programmes at Cape Town City Ballet. The Cape Town City Ballet in conjunction with the UCT School of Dance, the Cape Junior Ballet and the friends@capetowncityballet present their annual open day tomorrow the 19th of April from 10am till 3pm at the studios of the UCT School of Dance in Rosebank. Activities include demonstrations by the students and staff of the UCT School of Dance, in African Dance, Contemporary and Spanish. Admission to Open Day is R10 for children and adults. Tickets for the two Fund Raising Performances at 12h45 and 13h45 are available on the day at R40 from the CJB table. We were talking about her Solo Exhibition titled 'The Great Equaliser' it will be opening on the 21st of April till the 09th of May at the Ava Gallery number 35 Church Street, in Cape Town. The photographs were taken at two frail care homeless shelters - one in Woodstock run by the Night Haven and one in Faure run by The Ark. Zoë looks at destitution, old age and displacement across class, culture and race. She explained more about her work and the inspiration behind it. We closed off the show with an interview with Karen Meiring - Cape Winelands Film Festival Co-Director. The Festival will take place in Stellenbosch from today till the 26th of April. The Oude Libertas Amphitheatre will serve as the Festival centre but films will also be screened at 6 other venues in Stellenbosch which include The Ikhaya Trust centre in Kayamandi, JC Le Roux Auditorium, HB Thom Theatre, Protea Cinemas in the Neelsie and the Protea Hotel Dorpshuis.
