Today had interview I had earlier this week with Sylvia Mdunyelwa – better known as “Mama Kaap” about a concert they are orgarnising together with Sbongile Khumalo a special tribute to Busi Mhlongo. This is a very special Womans Month musical production entitled 'Sistas Healing our Souls' at the Cape Town City Hall on the evening of 29 August. Mama Kaap is currently in Gauteng busy with rehearsals for the concert. The 'Sistas healing our Souls' concert will feature solo performances and collaborations by some of South Africa’s most loved and respected divas, including principal performers Abigail Kubheka, Gloria Bosman, Tina Schouw and Xolisa Dlamini, who will be backed by a 24-piece backing band of top musicians from across the country, such as jazz trumpeter Feya Faku, Cape Town saxophonist Shannon Mowday and trombonist Kelly Bell. It will be held at the Cape Town City Hall on Wednesday, the 29th of August 2007, at 20:00. Tickets to the concert are R100 and bookings can be made at any Computicket office or telephonically on 083 915 8000. Alternatively visit www.computicket.co.za.
