Our last interview was with Mfanafuthi Sithebe - Communication Workers Union’s spokesperson. We were talking about the Vodacom strike. Vodacom stopped a strike that the CWU had called in March. After a single day of picketing, before the full strike had begun, Vodacom obtained a temporary interdict from the Labour Court that stopped the planned industrial action, now on Monday the Labour Court in Johannesburg issued a ruling on that case in favour of the union. Mfanafuthi says the union is in talks with relevant parties and they are planning to continue with the strike action.
