Today we spoke to Mr Haasim Salie – chairman of the South African Melayu Cultural Society. The society was formed to revive traditional Melayu culture; promote and preserve Melayu culture and also to enrich the youth from underprivileged areas. Mr Salie says four students are currently in Indonesia learning about the Melayu culture with the aim of coming back and sharing what they have learned with their peers. And we also spoke to Annie Beckhelling – Founder of Cheetah Outreach. Annie launched the project with the aim of ensuring the long-term survival of the cheetah and its ecosystem through a multi-disciplined and integrated conservation programme of research and education.
