Today we played an interview we had with Marietta De Vaal – Head of Research Unit from the Commission on Gender Equality. The commission is planning workshops and Gender Dialogues to be conducted throughout the country as a means of reaching out to the community and at the same time change the mind sets of those members of the society that need education in relation to gender equality. Our last interview was with Laura Van der Pohl. Laura is a Resource Development Officer from the Community Resource Organisation and they help women in different communities by running a range of empowerment programmes. They are currently running an income genrating project called Mama’s Coin Factory. The project aims to develop and implement reliable, convenient and creative models of coin collection to create sustainability for the grassroots women’s savings network.
