GirlHype, hands-on opportunities for girls and women to get engaged with technology

Founded in 2003 by Baratang Miya, the purpose of GirlHype is to empower women and girls to be the best they can, by giving girls from disadvantaged backgrounds the power and skills to pursue careers in tech and build a long and lasting successful career in the tech industry.

Today we spoke to Baratang Miya, the founder of Girlhype. She spoke about the purpose and benefits of Girlhype, how they help girls and women from disadvantaged backgrounds to build a long and lasting successful career in the tech industry as tech is the future of tomorrow. They recently also avail their programmes to up skill boys that really can't afford the fees. The services is targeted at grade 9-10 learners. 

She talked also about their programs in coding which has purpose to learn girls in coding and just to teach the importance of coding in the software industry and how girls and women can be beneficial out of their programs offered.
