"The Widow" to be featured at the Zwakala Theatre Festival

We closed off with Mandisi Sindo – Artistic Director at Theatre4Change Therapeutic Theatre. He joined us to talk about his latest piece of theatre "The Widow" which will be featured this year again at the Market Theatre Lab in Johannesburg during the Annual Zwakala Theatre Festival on the 23rd and the 24th of September 2013. The Zwakala Festival will be staging ten best community theatre plays selected from the Laboratory’s 21st Community Theatre Festival. The annual Community Theatre Festival is a celebration of the range of theatre works created by community theatre groups from across the country and a celebration of the diversity of South African theatre-makers and storytellers. On the 5th of October the dance version of the production will be featured at the Baxter Dance Festival. Winter having an effect on Bloodstocks

The Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) is appealing to all donors to donate blood as blood stocks are critically low. “The winter is having a severe effect on our bloodstocks and we are amidst a severe blood stock shortage”, says Marike Carli, Public Relations Manager at WCBS. There is a critical shortage in the O and B blood groups, with only a 2-day supply left. The A-positive blood stocks are also under severe pressure as only a 3-day supply is left. WCBS always aim to have a blood stock level of 5 days. The winter weather is not conducive to going out, and with the continuing storms in Cape Town, they are seeing the effects on their blood stocks. Blood donors suffer from colds and flu during this time and can subsequently not donate blood – up until the resolution of their symptoms .
