Unathi & Jabaar
Jabaar Mohamed - Provincial director of Deaf South Africa in the Western Cape and Unathi Kave - Sign Language Interpreter were Instudio to tell us more about Deaf Awareness as September is Deaf Awareness Month. Deaf Awareness Month is about recognizing the deaf people in our community as well as looking back at the achievements of pioneers in deaf culture. The theme this year is “Equality for Deaf People”. This theme brings the deaf community together to recognise their contributions to domestic and global prosperity, to secure the human rights of all deaf people, and to prepare the deaf community for challenges in the future.
