Cape Town City Ballet presents "The Sleeping Beauty"

We were joined by Trevor Schoonraad and Angela Hansford – From the Cape Town City Ballet. They both will perform in the Cape Town City Ballet upcoming production of The Sleeping Beauty at Artscape from 10th to the 18th of August. The production will also feature two international stars from the Royal Ballet. The production will be at Artscape Opera House from the 10th to the 18th of August 2013, tickets range from R100 to R300 and can be booked at Computicket or Artscape Dial-a-Seat on (021) 421 7695. On the 9th of August there is a special show "BELLES of the BALLET" – a programme in celebration of WOMEN’s DAY, featuring the leading ladies of the classics and other well-known ballets. Tickets range from R50 to R110. Winter having an effect on Bloodstocks

The Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) is appealing to all donors to donate blood as blood stocks are critically low. “The winter is having a severe effect on our bloodstocks and we are amidst a severe blood stock shortage”, says Marike Carli, Public Relations Manager at WCBS. There is a critical shortage in the O and B blood groups, with only a 2-day supply left. The A-positive blood stocks are also under severe pressure as only a 3-day supply is left. WCBS always aim to have a blood stock level of 5 days. The winter weather is not conducive to going out, and with the continuing storms in Cape Town, they are seeing the effects on their blood stocks. Blood donors suffer from colds and flu during this time and can subsequently not donate blood – up until the resolution of their symptoms .
