Human Rights - Christel House South Africa is looking for volunteers

In today's show, we spoke to Sharon Williams - Director of marketing and development at Christel House. Registered as a non-governmental organisation and incorporated under Section 21, Christel House South Africa endeavours to break the cycle of poverty by providing a holistic learning experience for each child. Therefore in light of International Mandela Day this week Thursday July 18 is encouraging the public to join them as volunteers on this auspicious day. Volunteers can show their appreciation for the statesman’s 67 years of service by either donating R67 towards a child’s education, 67 meals for children at the school since many of the children receive their only balanced meal of the day at the school, spend 67 minutes of your time playing with the children or assisting with other activities, 67 art materials, skipping ropes, balls, or other toys/ sporting equipment, toothbrushes as the smaller children are assisted with personal hygiene, pairs of socks or shoes, ask 67 friends each to donate a book to the library or get 67 people together to knit squares to provide blankets for families this winter.
