10 October - Gender - U-turn observes World Homeless Day

In today's show, we were joined by Sam Vos - Director of U-turn. He was speaking to us about how they assist vulnerable people, especially women who have fled from abusive relationships. U-Turn helps destitute people to rejoin society as contributing members of society. They have been working in the Southern Suburbs since 1997. Today is also World Homeless Day. The purpose of World Homeless Day is to draw attention to homeless people’s needs locally and provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness, while taking advantage of the stage an ‘international day’ provides. For more information contact U-Turn on (021) 674 6119 or visit www.homeless.org.za
