Hospital Closure Coalition’s concerns. Also on the line we were joined by Faiza Steyn -
director of communications for the Western Cape Department of Health. The
GF Jooste Hospital Closure Coalition said they fail to understand the Provincial
Department of Health’s reasons for the shutdown of GF Jooste Hospital whilst they
welcome the plan to build a new hospital that will include paediatric and
obstetric services, they are also deeply concerned about the potentially
catastrophic impact the closure will have in the community as well as on all
health facilities throughout Metro West.
