Mitchell’s Plain Youth Unemployment Prevention Project is giving out bursaries
We also heard from Eireda Mohamed
- Project coordinator of the Mitchell’s Plain Youth Unemployment Prevention
Project. She was speaking to us about what they do and the bursary
opportunities available. The Mitchell's Plain Youth Unemployment Prevention
Project was established as an NPO for the primary
purpose of preventing learners from becoming unemployed after leaving school
and thereby stopping the growth of the youth unemployment in our communities. They
have established a walk - in - centre, that advise, assist with application
forms and source relevant information for the youth, who wish to study further
after High school and those unemployed youth, who wants to make a change in
their current lifestyle or seeking other opportunities. The Mitchell’s Plain Youth
Unemployment Prevention Project in conjunction with the Mitchell’s
Plain Education Forum (MPEF) hosts the post-school opportunities seminar and
introduced a career day to advise learners before they become students or enter
the job market. 15 top performing learners from Mitchell’s Plain will be
awarded bursaries to study at a university or technikon of their choice. For
