NYDA is calling for Youth Awards nominations
We closed off with an interview with Stephen
Curry - Branch manager of the National Youth Development Agency in the Western Cape speaking to us about the NYDA’s
inaugural Awards. The NYDA is calling for nominations for their inaugural South
African Youth Awards which will be held at Gallagher Estate in Gauteng, on July
28th 2012, and thereafter annually at the end of Youth Month. Themed
‘Against All Odds,’ the primary objective of the awards is to recognise young
South Africans who are making a positive contribution in the country, the
African continent and the rest of the world. It will also recognise individuals
and organisations that have made an outstanding contribution to youth
development. The criteria for the award entries is youth between the ages of 14
to 35, who are South African citizens and individuals and organisations that
have made an outstanding contribution to youth development. The categories for
the awards are Academic Excellence, Entrepreneurship, Extraordinary Champions
(Differently abled individuals), Health and Wellbeing (including Sport), Public
Sector, Private Sector, Science, Technology and Innovation (includes Medicine),
Social Cohesion, The Environment, Arts and Entertainment (includes Music, Film,
Literature and Dance) and The Presidential Award. Entries for the awards close
