July 25th is the National Osteoarthritis Day

We closed off with an interview with Professor Asgar Kalla - Head of the rheumatology department at UCT’s department of medicine. We were talking about Osteoarthritis. Wednesday the 25th of July is the National Osteoarthritis Day. Osteoarthritis is a form of arthritis caused by the inflammation, breakdown and the eventual loss of cartilage in the joints. It is reported that Osteoarthritis is the “most common form of arthritis" and affects up to 10% of the world's population.
