Cape Chamber of Commerce hosts Skills Colloquium

We heard from Viola Manuel - Executive director at the Cape Town Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She was speaking to us about the skills colloquium that they hosted earlier today in partnership with the Provincial Government of the Western Cape. The Cape Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Provincial Government of the Western Cape hosted a debate as part of their Skills Colloquium earlier today. Premier Helen Zille opened the event entitled ‘Is the Western Cape set up to attract and retain Black Skills?’ which focused on Scarce Skills – Attraction and retention of skills, Performance – Demands for private and public sector executives, How to sell skills without losing the human capital, Assessing policy to consider skills demand and matching with supply during lead times and Skills Framework. The panel of speakers included Guy Lundy – Accelerate Cape Town, Kiewiet Mhlongo – SEDA, Msize Cele – Public Square Foundation, Osiame Molefe – Daily Maverick and Thabile Wonci – BMF.
