SAPPRU to host Youth Day Campaign in Strand

Mandisa Malinga
We closed off with an interview with Mandisa Malinga - an intern researcher for the MRC’s Safety and Peace Promotion Research Unit. She was here to talk about their youth day campaign. The Safety and Peace Promotion Research Unit (SAPPRU) of the Medical Research Council in collaboration with UNISA annually hosts the Youth Day Campaign in Strand that targets youth in and outside of schools there and seeks to address some of the challenges faced by young people in these communities. This year’s campaign will be hosted at Khanyolwethu High School in Lwandle, Strand and part of the programme includes speakers who will be addressing young people with some entertainment in between to avoid them from wandering and thereafter not leaving with significant messages from the speakers. For further information you can contact Mandisa on (021) 938 0535 or send an email to mandisa.malinga@mrc.ac.za
