City of Cape Town to host a Youth in Action Expo

We closed off with an interview with Councillor Grant Pascoe -Head of Events for the City of Cape Town. He joined us to talk about the Youth in Action Expo. The City of Cape Town will host a two day Youth in Action Expo on the 15th and 16thof June at the Zip Zap circus in the Artscape Garden’s to commemorate Youth Day. The expo will start at 10h00AM and end at 17h00PM on both days. Activities at the expo will include, among other things, exhibitions, workshops, talks and performances by leading industry artists. The programme has been designed to give young people the opportunity to gain knowledge of various alternative fields of work, so that they can be motivated to contribute towards the well-being of the nation as a whole. The programme will promote elements of development, transferral of skills, job creation, social cohesion and poverty alleviation. Sessions with the youth, showcasing different job fields in catering, fashion, make-up, the performing arts and how to start and sustain a business will form part of the event.
