Cancer Survivor shares her story

Anne
We were also joined by Anne Siroky – Cancer Survivor. Yesterday was International Cancer Survivors Day which provides an opportunity for all people living with a history of cancer to connect with each other, celebrate milestones and recognize the healthcare providers, family and friends who have supported them along the way. According to the National Cancer Survivors Day Foundation "A 'survivor' is anyone living with a history of cancer – from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life," Anne explained more about her journey of beating the big C. International Cancer Survivors Day is in honour of all cancer survivors and this year CANSA celebrated Hope and life with survivors and their families with a special day of Hope. In addition Kobus Smit, Obie Woolward and Kedibone Bonoko are South African’s three representatives that will be participating in this year’s International Relay for Life (RFL) Heroes of Hope as they will be spreading the message of hope and courage to cancer survivors worldwide serving as a beacon of hope to all cancer patients and survivors in our country.
