In today's show, we spoke to Ruth Fortuin – Assistant Director at the South
African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence or SANCA
Tygerberg. We were
talking about Substance Abuse. One of SANCA’s objectives is to develop and
implement substance abuse prevention and awareness programmes based on
experiential and life style principles to particularly vulnerable target groups
in their areas of operation. Tomorrow marks the
International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. This important day was created by the United Nations
General Assembly to help create a society free of illegal drugs and drug abuse.
