In today's show, we spoke to Janine Mosetlhi - Communications Officer for the South African Red Cross Society (SARCS). She was telling us more about the work that they do and about commemorating World Red Cross Day, which is tomorrow. The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is the largest humanitarian network in the world, tasked to alleviate human suffering, protect life and health, and uphold human dignity especially during armed conflicts and other emergencies. It’s present in every country and supported by millions of volunteers. Its work involves providing First Aid training, Disaster response and management which continues to represent the largest portion of their work, Finding missing family, Health Care, Youth and Communications.
