Today marks the fifth annual World Autism Awareness Day which sees every year, autism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events. This year’s theme is shine a light on Autism ‘Light it up Blue’ which will see our very own Table Mountain being lighten up blue. Globally, it is estimated that one in every 110 children is diagnosed with Autism and studies suggest boys are more likely than girls to develop Autism and receive the diagnosis four times more frequently according to Autism Western Cape.
