28 June - Human Rights - Rape Crisis Trust to host training and awareness programmes
In today's edition of Sakhisizwe we were joined on the line by Joyce Doni-Mxego - Counselling Coordinator at Rape Crisis Khayelitsha. Rape Crisis Khayelitsha is seeking volunteers to participate in their public awareness and counselling training programmes. The programmes aim to provide participants with the necessary skills to educate communities about their rights as victims of crime and support rape survivors. Established in 1976, Rape Crisis exists to end sexual violence and to promote the right to live free from violence. Joyce explained more about the importance of knowing one’s right as victims of sexual violence and how to go about enrolling in the training programme. For more information about the training you can contact their offices on (021) 361 9228 or send an email to Helette@rapecrisis.org.za
